- Once a week or every other week, wash your hair. This will help prevent hair care product buildup, which can be drying to the hair.
- Use conditioner after every wash of your hair. Conditioner should be applied to the ends of your hair because they are the oldest and most fragile part of your hair.
- Treat your hair with biotin hot oil treatment, twice a week. This gives your hair more moisture and elasticity.
- When using relaxers, proceed with caution. Always seek the services of a professional hair stylist to ensure that the relaxer is applied safely. Touch-ups should be performed every two to three months on newly grown hair. Never use a relaxer on previously relaxed hair.
- Twice a month, apply a hot oil treatment. This gives your hair more moisture and elasticity.
- Press your hair with ceramic combs or irons. If you want to press or straighten your hair, use a ceramic comb or iron once a week. To avoid overheating, use a straightening tool with a dial. Use the lowest temperature setting available to you.
